I’ve been running a monthly virtual networking meet up on Zoom for a few years now called #InfosecLunchHour, and for the next meet up on Wednesday 6 August 2025 at 12.30pm BST, we’re going to do something a bit different ☺️
Rather than decide on a topic/theme for the meet up, I’ll come up with a list of them in conjunction with the regular meet up members, and release a topic in advance so everyone has time to think about things they would like to say and possible responses ☺️
So the topic for the next on Wednesday 6 August 2025 is: “On 19 July 2025 it will be the one year anniversary of the Crowdstrike incident which took down computer systems all over the world and impacted flights, rail networks, healthcare and other parts of the Critical National Infrastructure. What lessons have been learnt from what happened with Crowdstrike, and what impact has it had on crisis communciations?” InfosecLunchHour
If anyone who regularly attends would like to put topics/themes to me that we can cover during the lunch hours, pop me an email via InfosecLunchHourlisa@csu.org.uk with your suggestions please. As ever, if something big happens that warrants an “emergency” meet up happening sooner than 6 August or in between meet ups, I’ll arrange that.
And if this goes well, I will consider going back to fortnightly meet ups from September onwards, especially with the launch of the new AI and Cyber Security Association, as I’d like the meet ups to become a sounding board for the work the new Association will be doing moving forward.
As a reminder, this is YOUR forum and everyone will have the opportunity to speak. The meet ups operate under Chatham House rules, and no comment or question is off limits.
If you have any questions, please let me know by emailing me via lisa@csu.org.uk.
