The 24-hour global cyber security education marathon returns for its third year, offering free access to world-class speakers and cutting-edge content

Pre-registration is now open for Cyber Marathon 2026, the groundbreaking 24-hour online cyber security event that has revolutionised accessible education in our industry.

Taking place in late January 2026, this third iteration of the Cyber Marathon promises to be the most ambitious yet, featuring 24 consecutive sessions delivered by leading cyber security professionals from around the globe – all completely free of charge.

A Proven Track Record of Excellence

The Cyber Marathon has quickly established itself as a cornerstone event in the cyber security calendar. Previous editions have featured an impressive roster of speakers including Sharon Moore MBE from IBM, Keith McDevitt MBE from the Scottish Government, Dr Adrian Smales from the National Robotarium, and Christine Eckford from Citizens of Cyber, among many others.

Community-Driven Content for 2026

What sets the 2026 edition apart is its community-driven approach. By pre-registering, attendees can:

  • Nominate speakers they’d like to hear from
  • Suggest topics that address current industry challenges
  • Secure priority access to session tickets when full registration opens
  • Help organisers plan appropriate technical infrastructure based on expected attendance

This collaborative approach ensures the content remains relevant, practical, and aligned with what the cyber security community actually needs.

Breaking Down Barriers

The Cyber Marathon’s format removes traditional barriers to cyber security education. With no registration fees, no travel requirements, and sessions running across 24 hours to accommodate all time zones, the event is genuinely accessible to anyone with an internet connection.

Previous attendees have ranged from students taking their first steps in cyber security to CISOs of major organisations, demonstrating the event’s broad appeal and inclusive nature. In 2025, some dedicated participants attended more than eight sessions, showcasing the quality and engagement of the content.

Topics and Expertise

Based on previous years, attendees can expect sessions covering:

  • Digital forensics and incident response
  • AI and emerging technologies in cyber security
  • Identity and access management
  • Cyber security risk management and GRC
  • Mental health and wellbeing in the cyber security industry
  • Supply chain security
  • Threat intelligence and research
  • Career development and skills building
  • Diversity, equity, and inclusion in cyber
